Thank you for your interest in the Newton Center for Active Living (NewCAL) project!

As discussed at the Committee meeting on 10/09/18, The City of Newton Executive Building Committee (EBC) requests your participation in the Newton Center for Active Living (NewCAL) Questionnaire as we start the programming process for the new facility. It would be great if you could take a few minutes to complete this survey and share your thoughts with the project team.  Thank you if you have already completed the questionnaire or narrative!   🙂

In an effort to gather as much information as possible and engage the entire community, several open office hours and listening sessions are planned over the next several months, throughout the City at multiple different venues in the various Newton villages.

Please click on the upcoming events tab for the October 2018 flyer update for meeting information, including dates and locations. Meetings scheduled this month are as follows:

  • October 19 – Friday morning Open Office Hours – 10:00-11:30 AM
  • Hyde Community Center – Newton Highlands – 90 Lincoln Street
  • October 23 – EBC/ABC Joint Committee Meeting – 6:00PM
  • Newton Senior Center – 345 Walnut Street
  • October 29 – Dialogue with the Director – 12:00-1:00 PM
  • Newton Senior Center – 345 Walnut Street

Friday Open Office Hours are drop-in sessions which will take place every Friday morning for the remainder of the calendar year (with the exception of select dates in Nov and Dec) at various locations throughout the City. Listening Sessions are similar to the Open Office Hours, although they are in the evening and have a definitive start time, at 7:00 PM. A complete list of these events, with their respective locations, can be accessed by clicking on the schedule of meetings and map (which is under the “upcoming events” tab). To access information shared at these meetings click on the Community Feedback tab.

In the meantime, please continue to check this project website for updates. Also, feel free to email the project team at newcal@newtonma.gov with thoughts and/or questions regarding this project.
